I find the childish attitudes of many Americans astounding. They can't take a pass on one holiday season to help ensure everyone will be around for future holidays, even members of their own family. It's like they're so afraid to be alone and so incapable of amusing themselves, they'd rather spread Covid around than stay home, cook for themselves and read a book. It's doubly astounding and embarrassing for them now that we have the technology to stay connected. Every time I see someone out on social media bragging about their holidays or disparaging someone taking precautions, I think that they're just like a little kid terrorized at the prospect of not being constantly entertained and having a fit to get their own way, insulting the more mature people to make themselves feel better, probably because they know they're doing wrong.
