I think that Americans are getting sick and tired of people telling us that it’s not politically expedient to enforce our laws. Cynically failing to enforce our laws let Nixon resign without further prosecution and left Reagan and his cohorts free to perpetrate more crimes after Iran Contra including the destruction of democracy in Central America that clearly continues to harm the people now attacked as illegal immigrants. It’s no wonder that Roger Stone is an old Nixon guy and Reagan’s National Security Advisor Robert McFarlane has been connected to the Trump/Russia scandal. The unlawful DOJ rule claiming that a sitting president cannot be prosecuted comes from the obstruction of justice perpetrated by HW Bush and others for the benefit of the long-time extortionist and resigned VP Spiro Agnew. These crooks didn’t go away. They just gained experience and became more brazen. Not enforcing our laws brought us two illegal Iraq Wars and eventually the completely criminal Trump Administration and GOP.
