So, JD Vance wants to turn his violent follower's attention toward single women with cats. He also wants the federal and state legislatures to outlaw single women with cats instead of, say, outlawing selling airplanes that have problems staying in the air.

Young American women should probably stop following TikTok clothing and makeup influencers and start paying attention to politics. They’re under attack. This is a sample of what JD Vance wants for them.

1. Difficult divorce. No-fault divorce is recent. It happened in my lifetime. At the time, it was considered lifesaving. Women who would have otherwise had to face difficult and humiliating court testimony to get a divorce were freed. They could file for a no-fault divorce and avoid a hearing. Divorce became all paperwork, absent fights over children and property.
2. Children as property. And speaking of children and property, the children from your bad marriage won’t be yours. Men used to own children from the marriage, so if the woman had to escape, she’d lose her children, a strong incentive to submit to physical and mental abuse. That’s the life JD Vance wants for you.
3. Children as property part 2. And once children are the husband’s property, or anyone’s property for that matter, what’s to stop their owner from beating or raping them? Maybe he’ll be too busy…
